[MOTOBUNKA - Motorcycle Culture Newsletter No. 3]
MOTO-BUNKA (Motorcycle Culture) is a BMX self-media company co-founded by Daisuke Shiraishi , a rider from Shikoku, Japan, and Nobuhiro "Pegy" Masuda , a rider from Tokyo. Its creative purpose is to promote Japanese BMX culture and promote international BMX exchanges and development. Its name MOTO stands for "motorcycle" in Chinese, and BUNKA means culture. The inspiration comes from the motorcycle shop run by Daisuke 's father in his hometown, which also laid the foundation for Daisuke's love for two wheels when he grew up.
This book is the third in the Motorcycle Culture Newsletter Series, and includes interviews and columns from 21 riders across Japan, as well as exclusive interviews with 2 international riders. The entire book is 120 pages printed in full color, and includes content such as field freestyle and floor car in addition to BMX street.
Looking at Japanese BMX as a whole, we can roughly distinguish many riders who are very active in international competitions, while there are also many riders who shuttle through the alleys and quietly study their skills without competing with the world. In addition, there are more and more new generation riders joining in to lead the next generation, which in turn prompts more predecessors to continue to support behind the scenes. This group of people is also a very important promoter of Japanese BMX culture. What do these riders think? Where will they lead Japanese BMX culture?
The magazine delves into previously unknown stories and the personalities of the drivers and all the people and events surrounding them. It also summarizes the contents of various events in Japan during 2024, which can be called a grand collection of 2024. (Translated by Allen Liu )
